According to Statistics Canada's seasonally adjusted Labour Force Survey Estimates for the period ending Feb. 28, 2015, the national labour market was as follows:

  • Population of Canada: 29,160,700
  • Number of people in the labour force: 19,197,600
  • Labour force participation rate: 65.8% 
  • Number of employed workers: 17,885,900 
  • Number of full-time employed workers: 14,488,200
  • Number of part-time employed workers: 3,397,800
  • Employment rate (as of Feb. 28, 2015): 61.3%
  • Number of unemployed workers: 1,311,700
  • Unemployment rate: 6.80%
  • Unemployed workers per job vacancy (as of Dec. 31, 2014): 5.0
